paper released Friday by the EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs says glyphosate likely doesn't cause cancer.

It says some of the studies it evaluated were of low quality. The EPA says the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (I-ARC) relied on some of those studies. That agency released a report last March saying glyphosate was “probably carcinogenic.”

Glyphosate is the leading ingredient of Monsanto’s RoundUp. Monsanto disputes the IARC assessment.

An EPA Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) will hold a meeting on the “Carcinogenic Potential of Glyphosate” Oct. 18-21 in Arlington, Va.
