Kubota Corporation has entered into an agreement to purchase agricultural implement company Great Plains Manufacturing.

Once finalized, the purchase will expand the Japanese tractor company’s long-standing partnership with the Kansas based company.

Both Kubota and Great Plains will continue to operate without any branding or product changes.  That includes all five Great Plains divisions – Great Plains Ag, Land Pride, Great Plains International, Great Plains Trucking, and Great Plains Acceptance Corporation.

Masato Yoshikawa, president and CEO of Kubota Tractor Corporation says the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term strategic vision of market expansion and providing additional products and solutions to its customers.

Todd Stucke, senior vice president of sales, marketing, and product support for Kubota says the deal will lead to advancements for both businesses once it is finalized.

Kubota recently announced it would locate its North American Distribution Center in Edgerton, Kan., and the company says the partnership will further build on Kubota’s presence in the state.
