Several lawmakers on Capitol Hill are asking the head of the Environmental Protection Agency to audit and investigate an EPA grant used for an anti-agriculture campaign.

Some environmental groups and an Indian tribe reportedly have funded several anti-farmer billboards in Washington state that are paid for by the EPA grant.

As part of a lobbying campaign for clean water, the billboards accuse farmers of polluting water.

Senate Ag committee chair Pat Roberts of Kansas and Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, chairman of the Senate Environment & Works Committee, have made the request of the EPA’s inspector general.
