UI Extension sets 2015 Snake River Sugarbeet Conference

It will be all about sugarbeets during University of Idaho Extension’s annual Snake River Sugarbeet Conference planned for Wednesday, Dec. 9 in Boise and Thursday, Dec. 10 in Burley.

Intended primarily for farmers, crop advisors and crop consultants, the conference will explore topics ranging from seed biotechnology to nematode identification and management and Cercospora leaf spot biology and management.

Other topics include herbicide resistance, petiole sampling, crop insurance, irrigation management, GMOs, webworm biology and management, and rodent biology and management.

The Boise session is planned at the Wyndham Garden Boise Airport Hotel. The Burley session is at the Best Western Plus Burley Inn.

The seminars begin with registration at 7 a.m. MST and adjourn at 3:45 p.m. Registration costs $27 through Dec. 4, then $37 after that at uidaho.edu/SugarBeetConference. Continuing education credits will be available for certified crop advisors and pesticide applicators for those attending from the Idaho State Department of Agriculture and Oregon State Department of Agriculture.
