The 2015 Bayer CropScience Ag Issues Forum “Feeding Imagination Today—Nourishing Tomorrow” took place last week in Phoenix, Ariz.

Innovation in food and agriculture has been a focus of this event each the 10 years it has been held.

David Hollinrake, vice president of agricultural commercial operations marketing at Bayer CropScience LP tells Brownfield his company is committed to research & development.  He said they have a great set of products on the marketplace and 30 new ones are scheduled to be introduced by 2022.

New products will soon be introduced to help farmers overcome some of the challenges they have dealt with for many years and until now, had no solution. ILeVO is a new product to be introduced this year, allowing farmers to choose varieties they want and plant earlier as well as control Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS.)

Trials have demonstrated that more than 85 percent of the time, there will be a positive impact on yields when ILeVO is used, whether or not growers know SDS is present.

Weed resistance and challenging weeds are a huge issue for farmers. Hollinrake tells Brownfield that Bayer CropScience has products that address these issues across corn, soybeans, wheat and cotton. New technologies, new traits have helped farmers to overcome resistant weed species and deal with challenging weeds.

Sustainability, explains Hollinrake, is key at Bayer CropScience. He defines sustainability as trying to preserve the technologies they are bring out and creating a better future than what we have today.

Hollinrake is positive about the future for agriculture and is proud to work in the ag industry.
