Syngenta is accepting nominations for the 2013 Resistance Fighter of the Year program. Now in its fifth year, the RFOY program honors advisors who help growers proactively fight herbicide resistance, encourage sustainable weed management practices and support growers' efforts to leave a strong weed management legacy. Resistance Fighters are nominated by their peers. One Northern and one Southern candidate will be honored as 2013 Resistance Fighters of the Year.

Eligible candidates include accredited farm managers, crop consultants, retailers and county extension agents. With 14 different resistant weed species now spanning 30 states, the role of these resistance fighters is invaluable for sustaining the long-term productivity of America's farmlands.

RFOY winners serve as spokespeople for resistance management at key industry tradeshows and interact with resistance management thought leaders. Winners also will receive an all-expenses-paid trip next January to the Syngenta Vero Beach Research Center in Florida and may be eligible to earn continuing education credits from participating in the program.

Nominations are being accepted through Sept. 13 at ResistanceFighteroftheYear.com.
