When growers hauled their produce to Manhattan on Tuesday, Sept. 11, they didn't know what awaited them. They were caught in the collapse of the World Trade Center and lost all their trucks, tables, canopies etc.

Now, the Farmers Market Federation of New York is beginning a fund to accept donations to be distributed to those affected growers-but thankfully still alive-following the terrorist attack.

Insurance will not pick up their losses because it was an act of terrorism or war. They must now bear the financial burden of the loss of those things vital to their livelihoods.

Contributions are being taken for the World Trade Center Greenmarket, C/o Farmers' Market Federation of NY, 2100 Park St., Syracuse, NY 13208
