Idaho's Governor Dirk Kempthorne will help out the state's potato growers by appearing in the Idaho Potato Commission's television commercial.

Kempthorne will appear with the mascot Spuddy Buddy to carry the Commission's message of consistent high quality and versatility to target audiences in 21 markets beginning Oct. 4.

The markets will cover more than 32 percent of U.S. TV households with the target audience women 25-54 years of age with children in the home.

The 30-second commercial's seven two-week advertising flights are also scheduled to run throughout the marketing season, ending in late May of 2001.
