Mondak Heritage Center Working To Preserve (Sidney) Sugar Beet Plant History

Sidney, Mont., - The Sidney Sugars Incorporated sugar beet plant might be closed, but its history isn’t going away any time soon.

That’s thanks to the MonDak Heritage Center and a grant from The Foundation for Montana History. The MonDak Heritage Center recently received the $4,900 grant, which was part of a slew awarded across 19 Montana counties amounting to $240,000.

For MonDak Heritage Center Executive Director Nikki Bailey-Will, the importance of the sugar beet industry in the area cannot be overstated.
