A Kittson County, Minnesota, sugarbeet grower has been elected chairman of the American Crystal Sugar Company's board of directors.

According to Friday's release from American Crystal, Erickson previously was board vice chairman and has served nine years on the board overall. He was elected as a director representing the Drayton Factory district in 2012. He is a fourth-generation farmer and has grown beets for 43 years.

Skaurud and his wife, Kathleen, are partners in Skaurud Grain Farms, formed in 1977. He has served on the board for eight years.

Olson has farmed near Halstad for 39 years and served 12 years on the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association board.
