Betaseed Awards Scholarships to Idaho FFA Students

In June 2021, Betaseed awarded scholarships totaling $2,000 to Idaho FFA scholarship winners Taylor Newey and Jarrett Mink. They were selected from a group of 64 applicants. Betaseed proudly supports FFA and the organization’s commitment to students and their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success in agriculture and related fields.

Newey is a member of the Richfield FFA Ccapter and will major in rangeland conversation at the University of Idaho. Through FFA, she has competed in public speaking, dairy judging, environment and natural resources, food science, nursery and landscape, and rangeland. She held several positions within the Richfield FFA chapter over the last several years and acted as the 2020-21 chapter president.

Mink is a member of the Cambridge FFA chapter and plants to attend Blue Mountain Community College to study agricultural business and accounting with an intended career as an accountant or farm business manager. He has served as his FFA chapter’s treasurer and vice president. He has competed in several competitions, including parliamentary procedure and WID soils. In 2019 and 2020, he participated on the district-winning parliamentary procedure team. Additionally, Mink took an active role in the Associated Student Body, as well as an active volunteer with the Cambridge Commercial Club and at the annual Washington County Fair Board.
