In May, 2024, Betaseed awarded scholarships totaling $2,000 to FFA Scholarship winners Taylor Miller and Jolee Ecklund. Miller and Ecklund were selected from a group of 71 Betaseed Scholarship applicants.

Betaseed has supported FFA and its commitment to students and their potential for leadership, personal growth, and career success in agriculture and related fields for many years.

Miller is a member of the Declo chapter, and she plans to study Agriculture Business at Utah State University this fall. She has held many leadership positions in her chapter, such as historian, treasurer, vice president, and now president.

She served as their region’s FFA district president for a year in high school on top of her chapter offices. The district officer role was a great way for Miller to shine her light on FFA members from chapters beyond her own. Miller has dedicated time and diligent efforts to compete on the Ag Sales, Horse Judging and Dairy Foods Quality contest teams. Outside of FFA, Miller enjoys helping her community through volunteering at the local fairgrounds, rehabilitation center, nursing home, and highway clean-up site.

Ecklund currently serves as the Troy FFA Chapter President. She had worked diligently to lead and inspire chapter members. She has participated on many Career and Leadership Development Event contest teams, including Land and Soil Evaluation, Conduct of Chapter Meetings, and Horse Evaluation. She has attended the FFA Washington Leadership Conference in Washington DC and developed her knowledge of American history, agriculture, FFA, teamwork, and leadership.

Outside of FFA, she is an avid volunteer and has dedicated her time as an academic peer tutor, volleyball assistant coach, violin lesson instructor, food drive volunteer, horse showman, and National Honors Society member.

Betaseed is headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota, is North America’s premier sugarbeet seed company.
