South Dakota Sen. John Thune received the 2013 American Agri-Women's Champion of Agriculture award.
The AAW presented the award during the organization's annual legislative Fly-In trip to Washington, D.C.
Karen Yost, AAW president says, "Sen. Thune has provided leadership and direction for agriculture and has made a courageous effort to lead positive conversations for families in agriculture."
Thune shared the 2013 honor with Sen. Susan Collins of Maine. The award recognizes members of Congress who are courageous in their efforts to support agriculture.
