Potato processing in Idaho and Malheur County, OR, has fallen below last year for the last three months running.
The Idaho Agricultural Statistics Service's Dec. 14 report shows that to December 1 last year the processors had run 29,290,000 cwt. This year's disappearance to processors to Dec. 1 totals 20,940,000 cwt.
Potato stocks held by growers on Dec. 1 in Idaho totaled 95 million cwt, 16.0 million cwt less than Dec. 1 last year.
