A new CEO for the National Potato Council has reportedly been chosen but will not be named until Nov. 28, Potato Grower magazine has learned.

The new director will be on the job in mid-December and overlap responsibilities with Bud Middaugh who will retire following the NPC's annual January meeting.

This puts the Council on a very tight timetable with a changeover of administrators, moving the office from Denver to Washington, DC, and holding its annual meeting Jan. 8-12 in San Antonio.

In addition, the Council will try to find someone to take over the office which still has several months remaining on its lease. A half-rate will be offered so the NPC can be sure to get a lease and avoid losses.
