The U.S. EPA has determined that the benefits outweigh the risks of the use of TPTH, triphenyltin hydroxide, and so has ended a 16-year review of the popular active ingredient.

Griffin LLC, manufacturer and marketer of TPTH fungicide Super Tin, is pleased with the notice.

This clears the way for continued use of TPTH as a key fungicide in combating certain fungal diseases in potatoes, sugarbeets and pecans.

This action was aided by several industry groups, including the National Potato Council, American Sugarbeet Growers Association, Pecan Growers Association, and Griffin LLC.

In a joint venture, Griffin Corporation and DuPont have manufactured and marketed Super Tin for over 25 years. Griffin has dedicated a great deal of time and money to meet the necessary regulatory requirements for the Special Review.
