Syngenta Corporation announced March 2 that Robert A. Woods, president of Syngenta Corp., will retire from full-time employment effective March 31. Heiri Gugger, president of Syngenta Crop Protection, will become president.
Woods will become non-executive chairman of Syngenta Corp. Syngenta Corp. is the parent company of Syngenta's North American business, including Syngenta Crop Protection Inc, and Syngenta Seeds Inc.
In addition to chairing the Board of Directors, Woods will retain responsibility for government affairs, communications and investor relations for the North American corporate function and work with industry organizations.
"We are pleased that Bob has agreed to fill this important leadership position," said Syngenta CEO Michael Pragnell. "This will enable Syngenta to benefit from Bob's extensive knowledge and experiences as the company establishes itself as a leader in the agricultural industry."
