Betaseed Awards Scholarship

Betaseed, Inc. announces a 2018 scholarship winner in the Western Sugar South area. Kelli Horstman was awarded a $500 scholarship. Brian Specht, sales representative with Betaseed, presented the check to Horstman.

Horstman graduated high school this spring and will be attending Nebraska Wesleyan University to pursue a degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Rex and Kay Horstman, who farm near Hemingford, Neb. Throughout high school, she was is involved in various sports, SCCLA, CSC Scholastics, Health Professionals Club, student council and National Honor Society.

Betaseed awards annual scholarships to high school students to help further their educations. The scholarship committee selected Horstman based on the essay she submitted on the theme “The History and Future of Sugarbeets.” Betaseed is proud to support the region’s youth and wishes Horstman a successful college career.
