IBERIA PARISH, La.—A woman and one of her children were seriously hurt after the car they were in struck an 18-wheeler in Iberia Parish Saturday, State Police said.
A woman driving a car west on La. 14 near Hwy. 90 crossed the median and hit a truck hauling sugarcane around 11:30 a.m., said Master Trooper Brooks David. The truck then overturned.
David said the woman and one of two young children who were with her suffered serious injuries.
The other child was treated on scene and released, he said. The truck driver was not injured.
No citations have been issued yet, as the incident remains under investigation, David said.
