An EPA scientific advisory panel is meeting next week to discuss carcinogenic concerns about the weed-killer glyphosate.

Comments will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 17, by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act Scientific Advisory Panel regarding EPA’s proposed classification of glyphosate as non-carcinogenic to humans. The review process will include EPA’s Glyphosate Issue Paper which found that glyphosate likely does NOT cause cancer.

The panel then has 90 days to provide EPA with a written report of issues evaluated. The agency can then make changes to the assessment made by its Office of Pesticide Programs and it will again be available for public comment next spring.
