Driver injured in sugarbeet truck crash

RICHLAND COUNTY, N.D.—A semi truck hauling a load of sugarbeets drove off the road and tipped onto the driver's side Wednesday, Aug. 17, injuring the driver, the Richland County Sheriff's Office reported.

According to the sheriff's office report:

William Walters, Wahpeton, was driving his truck in dense fog about 6:29 a.m. on County Road 7, six miles south of Highway 13, when the crash occurred.

Walters, 80, was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge, Minn., with unknown injuries.

The 2004 Kenworth semi Walters was driving was totaled, the report said.

Breckenridge Ambulance and the Great Bend (N.D.) Fire Department also responded to the crash.
