Michigan certifies fertilizer applicators

The Michigan Agri-Business Association says more than 450 ag professionals have enrolled in the state’s first certified fertilizer applicator program.

Vice President Tim Boring says participants learn about nutrient stewardship, new technology and safety procedures when applying fertilizer.

Boring says Michigan is the first state to offer a certified fertilizer applicator training program and other states are starting to show interest in creating their own version.
