A little celebrity status never hurt anyone.

Since the world was introduced to Jason Brown, former NFL turned farmer late in 2014, he’s been using his “celebrity farmer” status to educate youth about the importance of agriculture.

He tells Brownfield that means bringing young people out to the farm.

“Anyway we can possibly lure them out to the farm, drag them out to the farm so they can see this is real,” he says. “It isn’t social media, it isn’t virtual—it’s real. Actual hands in dirt that’s going to produce something wonderful and beautiful and something tangible that you can actually eat.”

Brown says by providing that hands on experience he’s hoping to spark an interest for the next generation of agriculturalists.
