House Ag Committee Vice Chairman to retire

The vice-chairman of the House Agriculture Committee has announced he will not seek re-election.

Randy Neugebauer, a Texas Republican, has served seven terms in the U.S. House of Representatives since winning a special election in 2003 to replace Larry Combest. He was a key player in crafting the 2014 Farm Bill.

Neugebauer, a former banker and home builder from Lubbock, is 65 and says he wants to spend more time with his family.
