A survey indicates that 86 percent of people support the current nutrition standards in school meals.

The survey, commissioned by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, also shows that more than two-thirds of those responding believe that school meals are either excellent or good. That’s up from only 26 percent believing that in 2010.

There’s support for farm to school programs, which bring fresh foods from farms to school cafeterias. Those programs also give students opportunities to learn about how their food is grown, and to take field trips to farms. Eighty-five percent of respondents give those programs a thumbs-up.

Survey respondents believe childhood obesity is a concern. Eighty-nine percent call it a crisis or problem.
