Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced funding to rehabilitate and assess dams across the country.

Vilsack says millions of people depend on watersheds and dams for protection from floods and to provide safe drinking water.

He says dams are vital to holding stores of water for use during drought and investing in the infrastructure ensures a safe, resilient environment for agricultural producers and residents of rural America.

Around 150 projects and assessments in 23 states will be funded.

Projects in Brownfield states:

Minnesota – $140,000 in funding for Belle Creek, Crooked Creek, and Stateline pond.

Nebraska – $160,000 for Brule, Buckley Creek, Spring Creek, Papillion Creek, Clatonia Creek, and Blackwood Creek.

Ohio – $60,000 for projects in Rush Creek, Upper Wabash, and E Fork Buck Creek
