TWIN FALLS, Idaho—The Agri-Action farm and ranch trade show will return to Twin Falls Feb. 5-7 at the Expo Center at the College of Southern Idaho.

Implement dealers will again display the latest in ag equipment, and visitors can find information on everything from chemicals and seeds to irrigation and financing.

Seminars will also be offered on Thursday and Friday, with some credits offered for chemical applicator recertification.

Planned seminars for Thursday include a 10 a.m. session on pesticide resistance, presented by Ronda Hyrnick, University of Idaho extension pesticide coordinator. The presentation will provide information on resistance, why it is a concern and what steps to take to reduce it.

It will be followed by an 11:30 a.m. session of potato psyllid and the University of Idaho psyllid monitoring program. Presenter Erik Winnenger of the University of Idaho Kimberly Research and Extension Center will provide information about the common potato pest and discuss possible control methods.

The Thursday afternoon session, at 1 p.m., will focus on preventing spray drift and spray drift damage and will be presented by Sherman Takatori, program manager for Idaho State Department of Agriculture.

Seminars on Friday will focus on electricity and irrigation, beginning at 11 a.m. with a presentation on farm and electrical panel safety presented by Paul Ortmann, Idaho Power electrical engineer.

An update on Idaho Power’s Peak Rewards Program will follow at noon. A 12:30 a.m. seminar on irrigation efficiency—custom and menu options—presented by Troy Winward, Idaho Power ag representative, will round out the seminars.

Lunch will be available for seminar participants at 1 p.m. with speakers available for discussion.
