Our first-ever Thunderclap crowd-speak campaign had 133 participants and a social reach of 131,741 contacts. Participants opted in to the Thunderclap campaign to send a unified message to their social media contacts.
Nineteen states, cities and/or counties have issued official proclamations declaring July as Smart Irrigation Month. The Irrigation Association received four more proclamations than last year.
Smart Irrigation Month supporters have been promoting the initiative on social media with the hashtag #smartirrigationmonth.
Several media outlets, including The Denver Post and Landscape Management magazine, have published articles about smart watering tips, local support of the initiative, and federal and local proclamations.
