July is Smart Irrigation Month, when the industry comes together to promote efficient water use and increase demand for water-saving products, practices and services. To help spread the Smart Irrigation Month message, the Irrigation Association is hosting its first Thunderclap crowd-speak campaign.
Thunderclap is a platform that allows organizations to promote a specific cause and increase its social reach through Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. Individuals who join the IA Thunderclap campaign will donate their social media accounts to send out the same message at the same time as their fellow supporters.
The Smart Irrigation Month Thunderclap message is simple: “Did you know water use peaks in July? Be smart when using this resource. Celebrate July as #smartirrigationmonth!”
To join the campaign, visit IA’s Thunderclap page and select to support the campaign through Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr. Thunderclap will request permission to send the Smart Irrigation Month message on your behalf to your contacts on July 7 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern. Once you confirm, you can set it and forget it. After the campaign is complete, Thunderclap won’t post any additional messages on your behalf.
The campaign needs at least 100 supporters for the message to be sent on July 7. Become a Smart Irrigation Month Thunderclap supporter and help spread the word about water-use efficiency to more people than ever before.
