SHADOW 3EC HERBICIDE

www.arysta-na.com

As the newest, highly efficient, concentrated clethodim herbicide from Arysta LifeScience, Shadow 3EC Herbicide is a post-emergent option for sugarbeet growers.

It specifically targets volunteer corn, as well as annual and perennial grassy weeds, in numerous broadleaf crops.

The concentrated 3-pound formulation of Shadow 3EC makes it one of the most efficient options for growers. It requires one-third less volume of current 2-pound clethodim products and less than one-half the volume of current 1-pound clethodim products.

The quality formulation of Shadow 3EC is one that growers will discover is a cost-effective and trusted option for broad-spectrum control of many annual and grassy weeds.

BLACKHAWK INSECT CONTROL

Blackhawk insecticide provides fast-acting control of leafminers, armyworms and loopers.

Target pests are controlled by contact and ingestion. The translaminar movement of Blackhawk—through the leaves—can help with internal feeders like leafminers.

The active ingredient in Blackhawk (spinosad) affects the insect nervous system. No other class of products—organophosphates, neonicotinoids or pyrethroids—affects the insect nervous system with the same mode of action as spinosad. Blackhawk is in the spinosyn class of chemistry (IRAC Group 5), making it an excellent rotational product with other classes of chemistry.

Use of Blackhawk will not flare aphids or secondary pests. It has low impact on populations of key beneficial insects, including ladybugs, lacewings and big-eyed bugs.

Blackhawk is registered for use in sugarbeets, potatoes, beans, barley and wheat.

TELONE II SOIL FUMIGANT

Applications of Telone II soil fumigant increases sugarbeet yields by reducing cyst nematodes.

Some field crops require broadcast applications of fumigants for nematode control. But the tap root of a sugarbeet allows growers to concentrate the fumigant right in the seed row. In-row applications of Telone are commonly used in Idaho, Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming.

“Telone remains the standard for nematode management,” said Brad Young, Telone specialist based in Idaho. “The in-row applications allow lower rates to be used, which makes treatment more economical.”

In-row applications of Telone can be made with a variety of equipment.

CRUISERMAXX SUGARBEETS

CruiserMaxx Sugarbeets insecticide/fungicide seed treatment, a combination of separately registered products, is a convenient, all-in-one treatment that protects the root systems of sugarbeets.

Featuring Cruiser seed treatment insecticide, combined with Apron XL, Dynasty and Maxim 4FS seed-delivered fungicides, CruiserMaxx Sugarbeets offers growers convenient on-seed protection against both early-season diseases and insects.

The on-seed application provides a convenient solution for growers to increase vigor, improve stand establishment and increase yield potential by protecting the plant before the seeds even germinate.

Disease protection guards against early-season seedling diseases, such as Pythium and Rhizoctonia, while insect protection includes activity against sugarbeet leaf hopper, sugarbeet root maggot, springtails and wireworms.

This list is by no means comprehensive. If you know of more crop protection chemicals to include in the future, please email allen@sugarproducer.com.
