Anfesa Marie Galaktionoff, 28, has been named as the woman who died at the Western Sugar refinery in Lovell on Jan. 4, according to the Big Horn County sheriff's office.
Memorial services were held Jan. 10 at the Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, said Hayley McKee, an agency spokesperson with the state Department of Workforce Services.
The Big Horn County sheriff's office and the Big Horn County coroner's office also are collaborating on an investigation.
Sheriff's deputies and Lovell police responded to the plant at 9:02 p.m. Jan. 4 after Galaktionoff was reported missing.
They found Galaktionoff's body shortly after arriving, Sheriff Kenneth Blackburn said.
Police and other first responders-including search and rescue units and Lovell volunteer firefighters-worked until 3:30 a.m. Nov. 5 to recover her body, he said.
The incident occurred in a piece of equipment "quite a ways from the main factory" in a lift station that feeds water to where beets are dropped off by trucks.
In a statement, Western Sugar Cooperative said the company is cooperating with OSHA in its investigation.
The Western Sugar Cooperative was formed in 2002. Its 1,400 grower-owners raise sugarbeets in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska.
