FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP)-It took Forest Grove firefighters working with hydraulic rescue tools about half an hour to remove a worker who was trapped in a beet-digging machine.

Forest Grove Fire and Rescue says its crew responded Thursday afternoon to the middle of a beet field where the worker had tried to clear a clog when he slipped. His leg became stuck in conveyor belt.

The man was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with leg injuries described as moderate.
