With a vote of 75-22 Thursday, the Senate voted to invoke cloture on the farm bill.

Senate majority leader Harry Reid called for cloture on Tuesday to limit debate on the farm bill and amendments.

Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee says that will help to advance the farm bill.

"We can get a farm bill completed and have that business done here (in the Senate)," he says.  "Hopefully the House will then pass a farm bill and we can get a conference committee together and give agriculture what they deserve-which is a five-year farm bill."

Donnelly said it is likely the Senate will vote on the farm bill early next week.
