Ag companies make 2012 Fortune 500 list

Seventeen companies with a significant agricultural presence are part of Fortune Magazine's 2012 listing of the 500 largest US corporations.

As reported on Agri Marketing, Archer Daniel Midlands topped the agriculture list coming in at number 27.

Other ranked companies include: Dow Chemical, Merck, CHS, DuPont, John Deere, Tyson Foods, TIAA/CREF, Eli Lilly, Land O'Lakes, Monsanto, Smithfield Foods, Mosaic, AGCO, Seaboard, CF Industries and new to the list this year, The Andersons-coming in at number 472.

Wal-Mart is ranked number 1 with $469 billion in revenues.
