GREENSBORO, N.C.-This sweet deal is pretty straight forward.

Syngenta is now accepting applications for the Syngenta Sugarbeet Scholarship program through June 14. Students must submit an essay for judging and the student with the highest score in each of the five eligible regions will receive $1,500 for their college tuition. The scholarship program, now in its fourth year, helps equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to the advancement of the sugarbeet industry.

"We are committed to investing in the future of agriculture and believe that empowered leaders are the key to finding solutions for challenges facing the modern grower," said Tyler Ring, head of sugarbeet seed product management for Syngenta. "We wish all scholarship applicants the best of luck and look forward to their contributions to the future of sugarbeets."
