Topguard fungicide's row-crop registration has recently expanded to include sugarbeets.
Topguard (flutriafol) provides long-lasting, systemic control of Cercospora leaf spot-including strobilurin fungicide-resistant strains. Field data collected for a number of years in Michigan indicates that a spray program at 14-day intervals of Koverall fungicide (mancozeb) alone; followed by Topguard/Koverall tank-mix; followed by Koverall alone; followed by Topguard/Koverall tank-mix will control Cercospora leaf spot for the season.
University of Michigan research shows that Topguard reduces the percentage of plants infected with Cercospora leaf blight to 5 percent. The tank-mix with Koverall improved disease control along with providing a great resistance management program.
Nufos 4E is a broad spectrum insecticide. Chlorpyrifos, the active ingredient in Nufos 4E, is non-systemic, controlling the insect through ingestion, inhalation and contact.
Glyfos X-tra is an economical broad-spectrum post-emergent glyphosate herbicide. It's registered on all glyphosate-tolerant crops, including Roundup Ready sugarbeets.
