This year's theme, "The Sugar Industry: Facing Future Policy" will explore a broad range of topics of great interest to all industry stakeholders.

Attendance at this year's Symposium is a must for all industry stakeholders given the critical state of play of sugar policy with the pending renewal of the Farm Bill.
Will we have a completed Farm Bill by August or will it still be a work-in-progress?

Additional program topics will include the U.S. and world market supply-demand outlook, the effect of multilateral, regional and bilateral trade agreements on world sugar policies and U.S. commodity programs, the upcoming Congressional and Presidential election outlook, trends and forecasts in the food sector, and other key topics.

Speakers include those who are closely involved in formulating sugar policy, including U.S. legislators and Administration officials, domestic and foreign sweetener representatives, noted economists and high-profile sweetener industry leaders.

A sampling of headline speakers includes:
The Honorable Michael Scuse, Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services, U.S. Department of Agriculture
The Hon. Sharon Bomer, Assistant United States Trade Representative
Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID), House Natural Resources Committee
James Miller, Senior Policy Advisor, Office of Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND)
Bart Fischer, Chief Economist, House Agriculture Committee
David Wasserman, U.S. House Editor, The Cook Political Report
James Wiesemeyer, Vice President, Farm & Trade Policy, Informa Economics
Sweetener Industry Experts with a focus on trade, marketing, trends and other important issues.

Traditionally, the "Who's Who" of the international sugar industry attends the Symposium to hear the compelling program content. This meeting is also the perfect networking opportunity to build critical industry relationships with international colleagues and customers.

This year's location, the spectacular Coeur d'Alene Golf Resort & Spa in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, will prove especially appealing.

Located in the scenic northern Idaho, this world class resort sits on the shores of spectacular Lake Coeur d'Alene surrounded by the Bitterroot Mountains.
