Continuing to deepen the company's investment in the sugarbeet industry, Syngenta announced its sponsorship of MichiganBeets.com, a Michigan Sugar website. Syngenta is sponsoring the moisture and temperature sensors that Weather Innovations utilizes to provide disease predictability models to Michigan Sugar growers. Michigan Sugar is the grower-owned cooperative that oversees all sugarbeet production in the state.

MichiganBeets.com provides registered sugarbeet growers with information on disease control, spray treatments and current and upcoming weather fronts. Growers who register for the site also have access to field maps and guides on how to identify diseases.

"The information that MichiganBeets.com provides to growers is critical for having the best season possible," said Brian Devine, Syngenta sales representative in Michigan. "Syngenta believes that growers should have the best chance for optimal quality and yield at harvest; therefore sponsoring a website that allows them to stay ahead of weather and disease was a logical fit."

The sponsorship of MichiganBeets.com is one of the many ways Syngenta invests in the sugarbeet industry. Through additional sponsorships like the American Sugarbeet Growers Association, a scholarship program benefitting five students in the industry each year, yield-preserving products like Inspirer XT and Quadrisr fungicides, a strong portfolio of Hilleshögr seed options tailored to fit specific needs, the development of the online industry-resource Sugarbeets.FarmAssist.com, and a local, dedicated sales force, Syngenta actively assists the betterment of the sugarbeet industry.

"At Syngenta, we are committed to supporting the sugarbeet industry in a variety of ways and we are invested in its continued success," said Devine. "We hope our efforts show sugarbeet growers that Syngenta is more than just a crop protection and seed company, but a true partner in the industry."
