Senate Finance Approved $16 Billion Disaster Assistance

The Senate Finance approved a $16 billion package that includes funding for permanent disaster assistance, tax credits to pay for conservation programs, incentives for renewable energy and rural development, and numerous other provisions. Sen. Kent Conrad later discussed how this will help the Senate Agriculture Committee move forward on marking up the 2007 Farm Bill, it is now scheduled for Oct. 23rd.
