Britain is eyeing the creation of a single organization to promote its food products in conjunction with a quality guarantee system.

The government's Policy Commission is expected to propose the unified organization as part of its proposals for agriculture and the food chain.

Commission members believe farmers could sell more produce at higher prices if they were served by a single organization.

At the moment, marketing and promotion are carried out by producer organizations ranging from the British Potato Council to the Apple, and Pear Research Council and the Milk Development Council.
