Three Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials are expected to be subpoenaed as the Prince Edward Island legislature committee continues to investigate the potato wart situation.

CFIA Manager Don Love and two other officials will be subpoenaed to testify before the standing committee on Agriculture. Twice before members of the Committee have invited CFIA officials to testify. So far they have only offered to answer written questions.

PEI potato officials assure growers they have no evidence of wrong doing. It has been clear that it was a trade rather than a science issue.

PEI officials, however, see this investigation as an opportunity to suggest ways the CFIA could better help if such an incident occurs again.
