Valent Names New President

Masayo Tada will return to Valent to lead the company. He replaces Mike Borel who has served as president since 1998.

Tada was formerly an officer of Valent, serving as vice president of marketing and planning from 1982-1992.

He returns to Valent from its parent company, Sumitomo Chemical Company, Ltd., a company that develops and markets products to protect crops, improve food quality, beautify the environment and safeguard public health.

A member of the Sumitomo board of directors, Tada was responsible for the Plant Protection Division.

Valent USA Corporation markets and sells herbicides, insecticides, bioinsecticides, insect growth regulators, nematicides, baits and plant growth regulators for the agricultural horticultural, turf, ornamental and professional pest-control markets.
