A review of the future of the Saskatchewan government's Saskatchewan Valley Potato Corp. is under way as the company reported a first-half loss of C$700,000.

The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Crown Investments Corp. CIC's vice president of investments, Zach Douglas, said the result of the review is expected to be announced later this year.

The company, which recorded a loss of about C$500,000 in the six months it operated last year, said slow sales and low prices contributed to the latest loss.
