McCain Foods announced it will build a $100-million state-of-the-art potato processing plant in the West Midlands area of England.
The plant at Rugeley would be in addition to the company's existing UK operations in Scarborough and Peterborough.
The new factory will require an extra 380,000 tons of potatoes from British growers-more than 6 percent of the total UK crop. It will take the company's requirements in the UK to well over a million tons
