PEI Leads Seed Producers

Prince Edward Island with 24,023 acres entered for certification this year, is the leading seed-producing province in Canada.

The tabulations were made by the Nebraska seed certification agency through a committee of the Potato Association of America.

PEI's 5,404 acres of Russet Burbank was its leading variety followed in popularity by Superior at 3,412 acres and Shepody at 2,888.

Other leading seed-producing provinces includes New Brunswick (16,814), Alberta (13,079), Manitoba (9,253), and Quebec (6,273).
