Tasmanian potato growers formed independent action group and plan protests as a part of their campaign for higher potato prices.
They said they haven't had a price increase in 10 years and had joined growers in Victoria and South Australia in an unsuccessful attempt to get processors to pay an extra three cents a kilo.
Negotiating committee member Max McKenna told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. he had never seen growers so angry.
"The growers are ready, wanting to go now," he said. "I've got a commitment out of them that they would not take action while we were able to have continued discussions with the company."
