Incorrect attribution was given for figures published on the Potato Grower web site crediting growers with helping to save electrical power by selling their power back to the utility companies who serve them.

We apologize to the Bonneville Power Administration for quoting the figures as having come from them. They were actually from the Northwest Power Planning Council.

While the figures given are correct, they only included savings made by private, investor-owned utilities and did not include the savings made by BPA itself. BPA customers in Idaho entered 6,447 acres in the buy-down program. That amounts to savings of about seven megawatts.

The BPA's entire program in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and parts of Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and California totaled 135 aMWs.
