Keith Esplin, president of the Potato Growers of Idaho for the past two- and one-half years, resigned from the Board in an executive meeting this week.

Esplin said he was stepping down because he was no longer growing potatoes because he could not obtain financing this spring.

Dan Moss, Declo, ID, a member of the executive committee and vice president of bargaining, was named interim president. A permanent replacement will be named at the PGI's Annual Summer Meeting to be held June 4-5 at Elkhorn Resort in Sun Valley, ID.

Esplin, however, will step into the role of interim executive director of PGI. He will take the job held by Bert Moulton who remains in rehabilitation from complications following heart surgery.
