The USDA has issued certificates of protection under the plant variety protection act to two new varieties of potatoes April 9.
This will give the owners exclusive rights to reproduce, sell, import and export the new varieties.
They include Solide, developed by Den Hartigh BV of The Netherlands, and Satina from SAKA-RAGIS, pflanzenzucht Germany.
