Northern Ireland's potato sector has formed a Seed Potato Export Group to end a 10-year decline in sales and to re-establish the province as a premier source of quality seed potatoes.
Farmers, exporters, the Ulster Farmers Association, the Potato Breeders' Association, Seed Potato Promotions Ltd, and the Dept. of Agriculture and Rural Development are represented.
"One of the great strengths of this group is the fact we have the whole supply chain represented," group chairman Michael Gould said.
